3/8/2008 Anyone watching Lost there? I am so pissed at MichaelWho does he think he is! Putting his son in front of all other people! Dude, fix your attitude problem first! Besides, I don't have such a high opinion of Jack either--trying to save everyone, that just isn't going to work. I am still working on Season 2. So, long way to go. 3/7/2008 Back from CA-part IIHow I killed the time in Philly airport with a dying computer? By sniffing around for a power plug like a gray hound. I did find one eventually, and managed to watch 15 minutes of Xingchi Zhou's movie before my plane took off. Here I come, Los Vegas! and there I left, Los Vegas! That's about the time I spent in Vegas, for I had to run to Gate B17 to catch my next flight and yes, of course, B17 is located exactly at the very diagonal end from where I landed and no, I didn't play the slot machine and win 1 million dollars, although that was what I was daydreaming about when I ran past the slot machines. BTW, there is not Gate 13 in Vegas. My star began to pick up after Vegas. Everything went smoothly, even though I sank into anxiety when the stewardess welcomed us on board, because she briefly mentioned that we were heading towards Orange County, while all the time I though my destination should be Irvine...(Am I on the wrong plane? Too late for this question for the plane is already in the air) Taking a deep breath, I asked one airport personnel if she happened to know Santa-Ana airport after I landed who-knows-where, and learned that Orange County, Irvine, Santa Ana and John Wayne airport are actually the SAME place. Well, what do you expect, I am not strong in geography, or directions. 3/6/2008 Back from CA-part II love traveling, mostly in imagination though. When something is too good in your mind, it can rarely live up to your expectation in real life. That explains why I seldom do any real travel, of course, unless someone else is paying for it. My trip to CA didn't begin very smoothly. Having little experience catching domestic flight, I arrived at Ithaca airport only 20 min before the departure time, and was informed that the cabin door had already closed and there was no chance that I could get on the plane. The first blow! All right for me. I waited for the next plane in 7am, wondering why bothered to book an early 5am flight in the first place. Next stop-Philadelphia! An experienced traveler might already see the red light when Phily appeared on their travel agenda, but not me, until I checked the TV screen at the airport, the second time. I couldn't believe it the first time--my 9:25am flight to Los Vegas was delayed until noon! But after being repeatedly told by the apologies from the loudspeakers, I had to accept the cruel fact-another 4 hours of my patience. Oh, did I mention that I left at 1pm eventually, for the plane with oil leakage obviously refused to be fixed after 3 hours' efforts and another one was called to service from San Juan. Don't worry, I am still standing; not my laptop with only 2-hour battery capacity. |
